You Can Never be Overdressed

As you might remember, we sent Emily of Emily Divine an engraved heart bracelet which she styled in her story ‘Red stripes and Daisy print’, well Emily’s back, and back with her is her famous heart bracelet! This time, Emily’s out and about in a 60s style outfit and as ever, she’s looking stunning. Read Emily’s style tips below…   You Can Never be Overdressed By Emily Divine   ‘Someone once told me that you can never be overdressed. I think they were right.’

‘If I let you in to a little wardrobe secret, it's that I don't really own many 'casual' clothes.’

‘In my books, it's all about how you wear it. Take this cute shift dress for example. Technically it should be occasionwear by nature, but styled with some bright shoes and some white cat-eye sunglasses, you've got a perfect sixties look’

The Interview Outfit featuring Anna Lou of London

We love blogging and bloggers and this week we’re especially loving Becca of Fashion-Train and her blog post about The Interview Outfit featuring Anna Lou of London jewellery. Working in fashion, it can often be difficult to meet the balance between being appropriately smart with demonstrating your eye for style and your ability to show it. In some offices, trainers and a sweatshirt are the norm with anything more being a bit showy, whereas in others, heels are an absolute must so upon first arrival, your outfit needs to be acceptable across a range of offices. Becca helps us on our way with this tricky dilemma in ‘The Interview Outfit – Gingham Dress and Leather Jacket’, making sure that no matter what your ultimate working wardbrobe may be, that you’re prepared for the initial meeting. This was what Becca had to say; ‘Since working in an office I've become more interested in 'workwear' clothes and staying stylish whilst at work. It's different working in retail as you can wear pretty much whatever you feel comfortable in but staying smart and stylish is a little bit more difficult! This outfit is the sort of outfit I'd wear to an interview/typical day at work.’

Becca The Interview Outfit - Gingham dress and leather jacket

‘I've paired this dress with one of my favourite necklaces from Anna Lou of London! It's bright neon which I really like and it means it brightens up pretty much ANY outfit and adds a little bit more personality into an outfit.’

‘A shift dress like this is more of a day-time dress but can easily be worn out at night too with a pair of bright heels and a bright clutch bag!’

Choose it, Style it, Shoot it, Engraved Heart Bracelet by Emily Divine

Thankfully, the sun has started to come back into our lives, bringing with it bright colours and florals and happiness all round! It's time to start styling spring and possibly even summer outfits for the months to come and what better than added a touch of sparkle, in this case, the engraved heart bracelet. We asked Emily, one of our blogger ambassadors to 'Choose it, Style it, Shoot it',  the engraved heart bracelet being her piece of choice. We love the Spring look that she's styled and absolutely adore that bracelet on her! She looks absolutely stunning rocking Brit Chic perfectly. Read more of Emily’s style tips below…   Red Stripes and Daisy Print by Emily Divine

Emily Divine

‘Sometimes the more casual outfits are the best. Whenever I'm asked what my 'go-to' look is, I'll always say jeans, a striped top and a slick of red lipstick.’

Emily Divine

‘In my books, stripes = good. Even better when they match the colour of your shoes.’

Emily Divine

‘My clover necklace that I had happened to have slept in, rather appropriately matched my jumper (okay, it's not quite a flower, but near enough) and happens to be my new favourite. I'm all for symbolic jewellery and positive affirmations, so hopefully my clover will bring me luck and the engraved 'Imagine' heart adorning my wrist will help keep those creative juices flowing. Anna Lou eye candy galore, huh?!’

Choose it, Style It, Shoot it... The Love Necklace by What I Bought Today

We're loving an all gold jewellery look at the moment and it seems one of our blogger ambassadors, Anneli of the blog What I Bought Today is in agreement. We asked her to style up one of our most popular necklace designs, the love necklace, and along with some of our gold stacking rings she's put together a great easy weekend look. She's made double denim look pretty damn stylish and the gold tones of her jewellery compliment the subtle shades of her outfit perfectly. Read more about Anneli's styling tips below... The Love Necklace by What I Bought Today What I bought Today Love NecklaceLove Necklace by What I Bought Today"I am so into gold at the moment; layered, dainty, statement and unique styles are my current favourites and I love anything personalised." "I was so pleased to be asked to be one of the blogger brand ambassadors for Anna Lou of London! So much of the range is right up my street, and fits perfectly in together with my existing jewellery. I chose the dainty ‘Love' chain, which looks great together with other gold pieces on my wrists and hands, to complement the overall look" Love Necklace by What I Bought TodayWhat I Bought Today gold jewellery"I also adore the more chunkier gold trio ring, which I layered together with two simple gold rings. It’s all about adding your own touches to your jewellery." Love Necklace by What I Bought Today"I'll be wearing my Anna Lou of London pieces stacked, layered or on their own - simple pieces go with everything." We're also pretty pleased to have Anneli on board as a brand ambassador. To see the full post and get more tips on how to style this outfit, check out her feature here. Choose It, Style It, Shoot It... The Teardrop Earrings by Not Dressed as Lamb!

Time for another Choose it, Style it, shoot it and this week we're talking to blogger ambassador Catherine from the style blog, Not Dressed as Lamb about how to wear dressy earrings for day. Rose Gold Teardrop Earrings by Not Dressed as Lamb Teardrop Earrings by Not Dressed as LambWe love how Catherine has taken quite a dressy, sophisticated earring and turned it into the perfect day wear piece with pastel hued clothing and statement pieces. The rose gold of the earrings works perfectly with the blush pinks and whites of her outfit while the burgundy shoes pull the whole look together. "I chose the rose gold teardrop stud earrings because they're subtly glamorous - very pretty but quite fierce at the same time. I'm really loving rose gold over standard gold at the moment so it was nice to have the different colour options." Teardrop Earrings by Not Dressed as Lamb"I wore them with winter white and blush pink - one of my favourite colour combinations this winter. I liked the contrast of the soft chunky knit of my scarf against the sparkle of the earrings; scarves always hide necklaces in winter so I like to wear fabulous earrings instead." "They'll look great with my hair up come Summer, which I'll be more likely to do once it's a bit warmer. I'm always partial to yellow dresses for the summer (I have three), so they'll be a lovely piece to wear with sunshine yellow - and white too. I like the idea of an all-white outfit with rose-gold jewellery: very chic and simple - let the accessories do the talking, I say!" Sounds great to us! To check out the full post and see more about Catherine's outfit, take a look at her Blush pink post here and stay tuned for another Choose it, Style it, Shoot it next week! So I chose the Achieve Tag Necklace exactly for that reason: I wanted something that I can incorporate in the variety of my outfits. And the word “Achieve” is so good to get me motivated throughout the day!" Achieve NecklaceAchieve Necklace"It’s so easy to style the tag necklace, since it goes with simply everything I wear. Especially for such a simple outfit, it adds a little bit of glamour." Choose It, Style It, Shoot It: The Silk Scarf by Thank Fifi

In case you missed our first choose it, style it, shoot it, we'll fill you in. We've introduced a new feature to the blog where we challenge some of our favourite fashion bloggers to choose, style and shoot a piece from the Anna Lou of London collection and we'll be sharing the results with you here each week. One of the things that the Anna Lou of London brand prides itself on is its versatility and each of our items can be interpreted to suit you own style. What better way to give you inspiration on how to incorporate our pieces into your own wardrobe than to give you a sneak peek into other people's? The Silk Scarf by Thank Fifi This week we catch up with top Scottish style blogger Wendy from the adorable fashion blog Thank Fifi as she talks us through how she styled up the Abbey Road silk scarf. Thank Fifi wears Anna lou of London Thank Fifi wears silk scarf"I chose this amazing scarf which I like to call the silk grand prix.  It's checked and monochrome so a perfect fit for my style and I love the 100% silk quality." Thank Fifi wearing ALOL silk scarfThank Fifi wears silk scarf"I've styled it as a knotted neck scarf which we've seen popping up more and more on the fashion week catwalks.  I think the slouchy knit and boyfriend jean keep it from looking too prim and proper." Thank Fifi wears the silk scarf"I'm looking forward to styling it with a messy up do, aviators and worn as a knotted headscarf.  Bring on summer - I can't wait!" All images from Thank Fifi, check out the full post for more inspiration on how to wear this trend and a big thank you to Wendy for the interview.

Choose it, Style It, Shoot It... The Tag Necklace by Stylonylon

Hello and welcome to a fun new weekly feature on the ALOL blog. As you may be aware we've been teaming up with some fab fashion bloggers of late to showcase our new collection and they've been busy styling up our pieces in their own unique way. To give you plenty of ideas on how to wear our jewellery, we're going to be challenging our bloggers to choose, style and shoot a different piece of jewellery each and then publishing the results here on a weekly basis! First up, we're chatting to one of our blogger ambassadors, the lovely Julia from Stylonylon as she shows us how she's been wearing her new personalised tag necklace. Julia from Stylonylon wears the tag necklace"I chose a rose gold tag necklace which I had personalised with my blog name. I'm obsessed with rose gold and am slowly building a small collection of favourite pieces. This is the first time I had a personalised piece of jewellery and I'm loving it. It's also so handy for showing people how my blog name is spelt!" Julia fashion blogger wearing jewellery"At the moment, I am wearing my new necklace over jumpers. I'm going for lighter, spring colours like oranges and pinks, but it also looks brilliant on black and dark blue. It's really eye-catching and people always comment on it." Julia Rebaudo OutfitFashion Blogger Stylonylon wears Tag Necklace"I'm really looking forward to exploring pleats this summer. Not just on skirts, but on shirts too. I like the idea of pairing something so detailed such as this necklace, with a pair of ripped jeans and trainers!" Well we can't wait to see that look either!
