As we enter Spring, style rules inevitably change and it becomes necessary to shake things up a bit and opt for a fresher, brighter and just generally more sunny approach. And don't just draw the line with your wardrobe either - just like clothes, your jewellery can be updated and worn differently as the seasons rotate, to add interest and a fresh twist to your new season look. Rose gold is the most summery way to wear gold jewellery once the sun comes out to play. Just like our skin (hopefully!) this type of jewellery is sun kissed and shimmery - making it your perfect poolside companion. Rose gold is as versatile as gold itself, and looks absolutely stunning worn with summer whites and beachy hair for those long hazy days spent outside. At Anna Lou everything is coming up roses - most of our jewellery comes in a rose gold finish to allow you to work this beautiful mixed metal into your jewellery collection. Here's our pick of the best rose gold jewellery that you can add to your collection today, and wear all season through. Now all we need is for that British sunshine to get his hat on!

Clover necklace - £67.50

It doesn't get more summery than this clover pendant - nodding to summery fields filled with fresh clovers and flowers, and the scent of the great British outdoors hanging in the air! Better yet, this lucky charm can be engraved with a word or name of your choice for that extra special edge. Strike it lucky!

It's delicate and versatile enough to be worn with any outfit for any occasion - providing welcome relief for any accessory conundrums! Hamsa hands symbolise protection, and have now become a staple part of summer festival style - whether worn on clothes, as jewellery or even a tattoo! These Hamsa stud earrings have inspirational words etched into them, so you'll be feeling that summer joy through the festival and beyond.

PS I love you ring - £30

STREET STYLE: London Fashion Week

If you follow us on Twitter, you'll know that the Anna Lou team took to the infamous cobbles of Somerset House yesterday in a mission to bring you our updates from the front line of the last day of London Fashion Week. This four-day feast of all things fashionable and fabulous has become as much about street style as it is shows, with groups of super chic bloggers and stylish Brits flocking towards the venue to debut amazing outfits for the awaiting press and camera crews. So with our cameras poised and eyes wide, Team Anna Lou set out to hunt down as much amazing jewellery as possible - in order to bring our readers the latest trends straight from the front line. Aren't you lucky? Without further ado...

The icy February chill meant everyone was wrapped up as snugly as possible in coats and scarves, which in turn made it harder than ever to scope out eye-catching jewellery - until we started ring hunting! Statement, stacked up rings adorned the fingers of every fashionista lining the cobbles; there was hardly a hand in sight without some sort of sparkle on it. Get the look by stacking up some personalised Anna Lou rings alongside classic designs for a special take on this trend.

Initial Heart Ring - £40

Much like rings, statement necklaces were the easiest way to add jewellery swag to cosy coats and jumpers. Layering chunky necklaces over turtle neck jumpers upgrades a whole outfit in ten seconds or less - just opt for colour and sparkle and remember: the bigger, the better!

For classic girls, fear not - as simple and stylish jewellery looks set to stick around. Strings of pearls and sparkling stones are completely timeless, and can give an outfit some understated glamour. Or nab your very own personalised piece to give a touch of personality to your look.

The glitterati descended upon the red carpet once more last night at last night's Oscars to celebrate film's biggest achievements of the last twelve months - and as per usual, Hollywood's elite females made sure all eyes were firmly fixed on their fabulous outfits. Hemlines were low, and many dresses were billowing and loose in soft, summery colours to nod to the new season and sunnier days ahead.  Unlike other awards ceremonies this season, jewellery took centre stage - with A-lister's opting for bold, statement pieces to add some real drama to their red carpet look. Here's Anna Lou's round-up of the hottest Oscars jewellery, fresh from the paparazzi. 1. STATEMENT EARRINGS oscar earrings Earrings are undoubtedly the easiest way to add some jewellery panache to an evening look, but at this year's Academy Awards the earrings were as statement as the dresses - with teardrop shapes and plenty of glitter being the order of the day. Channel the look without the hefty price tag with some Anna Lou teardrop earrings. Available in a choice of finish, the hammered, textured detail and demure diamond will have you feeling like a red carpet regular in a flash.

Teardrop Stud Earrings - £40

Choosing a necklace to team with evening wear can often be a risky game - too big and bold can look OTT with an attention-grabbing dress, but wearing nothing at all can make a simple, coloured dress totally blend into the background. At last night's proceedings, however, Anna Wintour, Margot Robbie, Laura Dern and countless others gave us a masterclass in Pendant Perfection; opting for edgy shapes, chunky chains and long drops as a glamorous accompaniment to their stunning gowns. Be sure to pick a complementary shade to your gown to keep the look streamlined, and keep hair and make up sleek and simple for maximum impact. A classic pendant on a long chain is the perfect way to add some Wintour-esque chic, and Anna Lou's can be engraved with your own initial for that personal touch. Alternatively, opt for stacks of chunky gold coins for extra drama.

Gold Coin Necklace - £125

The daring and brave Scarlett Johansson and Cate Blanchett brought their necklace A-game last night, in the form of oversized, textured bib necklaces in aquatic hues. Pulling off a bib necklace can be a tricky game at the best of times, but when teamed with evening wear different rules apply. Choose contrasting colours for just the right amount of impact, and keep the outfit simple to really let your jewellery do the talking! Be Cate's copycat and throw on an Anna Lou monochrome bib necklace with your LBD (that's Long Black Dress), and be evening-ready in less than 5 seconds. Bonus points for nodding to the very current 70s trend!

It seems almost criminal to be thinking about Autumn/Winter 2015 when we're still yet to enjoy the promise of sunshine, tan lines and pool parties due in the coming months - but New York Fashion Week rules, and this week it's forced us to forecast way ahead of schedule. With this in mind, Anna Lou's been keeping a watchful eye on the AW '15 catwalks to bring you the best of Autumn Accessories rounded up from NYFW's various shows, and her top tips to get the look now! 1. OVERSIZED EARRINGS At Rosie Assoulin, bigger was better - contrasting simple, tailored dresses with oversized feminine earrings to create a quirky balance between masculine and feminine. Recreate the look with a pair of Anna Lou's statement danglies, such as these Brit-twist crown earrings. Pair with a simple colour block dress and channel your inner K-Mid in a flash.

Stack up some classic gold enamel bangles with textured knots and a choice of colours, to pack a real accessories punch.

Trend: The January Blues...

Have you been feeling blue this January? Well, fear not as we are here to tell you that it's ok. In fact better than ok, your bang on trend! Yes blue hues are the hottest (or maybe we should say coolest) shade on the fashion colour wheel this season, so it's time to turn your January blues into a style statement! Blue Fashion TrendIf you think about it, most of us wear blue on a regular basis through denim, so adding some more obviously indigo tones into our outfits is the perfect way to accessorise those casual every day fail safes. Head to toe blue can be tricky to pull off for most of us (we know double denim is in these days but c'mon it's not for everyone) so our favourite way to wear this trend is through bright accents. Whether you prefer dark royal shades or piercing azures is really up to you, both go remarkably well with a pair of jeans and a navy striped breton tee. Alternatively, if you work in an environment where denim is a no-go, bright shoes, scarves or jewellery accents can be a great way to jazz up your otherwise corporate work outfit. Blue Jewellery TrendAbove are some of the street style images that are inspiring us right now and below we've rounded up our favourite blue jewels from the Anna Lou of London collection, so that your path to mastering this trend is only a click away! 1. Admiral Chain bracelet 2. Blueberry leather bracelet 3. Sapphire Earrings 4. Cliffs of Dover Scarf 5. Blue Insignia Necklace (now only £7.50!!) What do you think of the blue trend? Guest Post: Rose Gold Jewellery by La Fashion Folie

We're back with our first guest post of 2014 and this week we hear from the lovely Sophie, who blogs about fashion, jewellery and all things stylish at La Fashion Folie, as she talks about the latest trend for rose gold jewellery. A Rosy Outlook ‘Say it with roses’ so goes the iconic Cadbury’s slogan, a saying that can also be applied to the key trend for 2014: rose gold jewellery. The taste for this metal has slowly been gathering momentum over the past couple of years and this fashion season it is set to go stratospheric. Personally I am a huge fan, rose gold is now my go-to alloy, with yellow looking brash and white paling into insignificance in comparison.  I now wear the warm hued metal on a near-daily basis with my Anna Lou of London initial necklace becoming a firm favourite in my jewellery wardrobe. The appetite for rose gold  looks set to become more than a seasonal fad too; in my day job I work in the fine jewellery industry and over the past year we have seen an increasing number of clients opting for rose gold engagement rings and eternity bands. I can see why - a pink sapphire gemstone glows when it is set in a rose gold reflecting the warm tones of the metal – an incredible option for an engagement ring! Another cool way to wear rose coloured jewellery is to mix your metals; rose, yellow and white gold enhance one another’s precious appeal when styled together. Try investing in a piece that combines all three alloys in one – Anna Lou of London can tailor bespoke pieces in a mixture of metals upon request. Rose Gold Jewellery by La Fashion FolieTo get you started I’ve put together my edit of my favourite rose gold Anna Lou of London pieces below – all of which would look chic worn alone or layered up together. 1. The Dream Tag Necklace 2. The Initial Sideways Necklace 3. The engraved Heart bracelet 4. The Love Necklace (perfect for Valentines, keep an eye on my blog for a little giveaway soon) 5. Happy Disc Necklace Will you be wearing rose gold this year? This post was written by Sophie Greene of the fashion blog, La Fashion Folie.
