STYLE CRUSH: TAYLOR SWIFT

Two time winner of Billboard woman of the year 13/14 and named the most powerful woman in U.K media by Media Guardian, Taylor Swift show no signs of stopping. Taking the world by storm, her music is a constant hit; most recently her album ‘1989’ debuted with one million sales and at the time of writing has spent its fifth week at No.1 on Billboard 200. Such immense fame brings media scrutiny, with everyone having their own two cents on Taylor Swift; most notably her love life is splashed across media headlines. Nevertheless, she is the girl of the moment, emerging not only as a popular musician but as a true style icon. At 5 foot 11, Taylor Swift stands taller than average, however unlike the rest, she’s not one to shy away, always seen in a pair of heels, emphasising her physique and long legs. Her look is not complete however without her signature red lip of course.

From glamorous and sexy on the red carpet to glam and girly she nails it every single time.

Her recent performance at Victoria Secret's catwalk display in London cause a media frenzy! Looking no less sexier than the Victoria Angels, Taylor Swift wows the audience in this sexy number.

Polished and put together, her street style is always on point.

To achieve a similar look why not shop some of our jewellery at Anna Lou of London? We've put together a list of similar products that Taylor has been spotted wearing. Hopefully this will be helpful.

Get the Look: Spring Outfit Inspiration

This time of year can sometimes be the most difficult to dress for. It's not quite warm enough to thrown on a summer dress and lose the coat, yet with the sun shining down on us we want to feel suitably Spring- like. So as always we're looking to our favourite celebs for some spring outfit inspiration on what to wear during this transitional period. These are some of our favourite ways to look Spring ready without being caught out should the heavens open. get the look, spring outfit inspiration Add some florals a la Gisele Bundchen Ditch those black and grey skinny jeans and embrace a floral trouser or pastel print denim. Being a trouser you don't need to brave bare legs just yet, yet you give a nod towards summer trends. get the look spring outfit inspiration Inject a pop of colour a la Reese Witherspoon No need to move away from the monochrome colours completely but by adding an electric hue you can turn your everyday office look into the perfect transitional outfit. get the look celebrity spring outfit inspiration Go sheer a la Allison Williams Nothing says Spring ready better than a smart but sexy sheer white shirt. It's the perfect transitional piece as it works for day and for evening, throw on a pair of courts with your smart trousers and you are ready for cocktails after work. get the look spring outfit inspiration Dress up your denim a la Karolina Kurkova It's the oldest trick in the book but denim is your best friend during the season change. A pair of distressed boyfriend jeans will look great with flats and a comfy sweater at the weekend and equally as good with heels and a blazer for week day meetings. Layer a warmer coat over the top of your blazer for added warmth. What's your go to style during this transitional period? The Most Stylish Celebrity Mums

With Mother's Day just around the corner (if you don't have a gift sorted yet then look here) we thought we'd pay homage to some of our favourite and most stylish celebrity mums, those women who seem to juggle career with bringing up children and still manage to look great doing it (We're sure their happy bank balance has a lot to do with that, of course). These are the gals we look to for style inspiration that can be both functional enough for the school run but still show off a bit of personality, and so we've put together a few Anna Lou pieces which we think would work well with their designer wardrobes. So no matter who's style you prefer, here's our guide to perfecting their look. Most Stylish celebrity mumsVB just had to get the number one spot, seeing as she's turned herself from Spice girl to fashion designer and s often seen carrying a, just as stylish, Harper on her hip while wearing 4 inch heels. If this high glamour princess of posh is your style inspiration then recreate her look with a chic silk scarf, rose gold stacking rings, sophisticated engraved disc necklace and adorable heart charm bracelet. most stylish celebrity mumsYou'd hardly know Jessica ever had children, the speed at which she leapt back into shape but as far as style goes, she has to be one of the most polished mum's we know of. She never sets a foot wrong and cleverly sticks to key pieces such as skinny jeans, well cut blazers and cute yet comfortable footwear. Style points all the way. To get her look add colourful details to a basic outfit such as our bright blue silk scarf and stacking bangles and keep your hair in check with a chic band or accessory. most stylish celebrity mumsOk so she has model genes which puts her on some whole other style level but Ms Kerr has literally never had a hair out of place, even when she was heavily pregnant. Since her son was born she's been back to her best in leather skinnies, short dresses and high boots, even going as far as coordinating her outfits with son Flynn at times. Get her look with co-ordinating a sophisticated teardrop necklace and earrings and dainty hyacinth bracelet. most stylish celebrity mumsEven though she's now based in London, Gywinnie still has that effortless Hollywood style, all blonde sunkissed hair, impeccable white tees and luxe designer seperates. Whether she's wearing statement gowns on the red carpet or cargo pants for the school run, there's no denying Gwyneth is one hot mama. Recreate her cool factor with a long line pendant like this woodland leaf necklace, and mix different textures on your wrists such as chunky chains with leather cuffs. most stylish celebrity mumsThat peroxide blonde hair that never has even a glimpse of roots, the impeccable make up and the coolest mum in town wardrobe, how does Gwen do it? Obviously designing her own clothing label. she knows a thing or two about style but even with three children, she's still our favourite rock chick. Get her punk style by adding some leather studded bracelets, a knuckleduster ring and cross necklace. Which celebrity mum's style is your fave? Tweet us @annalouoflondon or follow us on Facebook.

The Oscars 2014 - Our Best Dressed

So last night saw the 86th Academy Awards take place, did you stay up to watch? Personally we would have loved to see Amy Adams and Leo win one of those coveted trophies but what we were really interested in of course was the outfits. The ultimate Red carpet event, you can always guarantee some seriously stylish gowns and some seriously expensive jewels come the night, and the Oscars 2014 didn't disappoint. Here's our round up of the best dressed and the top trends from the evening... Shimmery Dresses at Oscars 2014The Bobby Dazzlers Sparkle, shine and metallics had to be one of the top trends from the red carpet this year and our faves included a Great Gatsby esque Oscar De La Renta flapper dress from Jennifer Garner, an un-recognisable Lady Gaga in sophisticated Versace and a shimmering Angelina Jolie in Elie Saab. Miranda Kerr also won the vote for after party gowns with her slinky silver number just making us even more jealous of how gorgeous she is. Oscars 2014 The best DressedThe Queens of Embellishment As well as full on shimmer, adornment and embellishment was key this year with nearly every A-lister opting for some sort of sparkly add ons. We loved Best Actress winner Cate Blanchett's Armani Prive number while Jessica Biel looked every inch the movie star in her Chanel couture and Sally Hawkins brought the house down in a divine Valentino number. Black Dress trend at the Oscars 2014The Black Swans If in doubt go for a black dress right? Well these gorgeous stars turned the simple black dress into something other wordly. Julia Roberts doesn't seem to be ageing one bit and looked stunning in her Givenchy lace gown, Charlize Theron opted for plunging necklines and long trains in Dior and Emma Watson looked far more chic than her years in Vera Wang. Lupita Nyong'o at Oscars 2014The Ones that 'Blue' us Away From Amy Adams in sophisticated Navy Gucci, Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen and Lupita Nyong'o's amazing icy blue Prada, we were bowled over by these blue hues. Jennifer Lawrence at Oscars 2014The Curveballs There are always a few standout looks from celebs that seem to do their own thing regardless of the trends (and most of the time that's exactly why we love them). This year the curveball awards go to Kate Hudson who turned up in a beautiful caped Versace gown and Jennifer Lawrence who was one of the only stars to go for a bright colour with her fiery orange Dior. Best Dressed Men at Oscars 2014And just because... We knew you'd appreciate it, here's some Oscars eye candy for you! Yum. Do you agree with our best dressed choices? NYFW AW14 Street Style Trends

Fashion month is under way and while we are excited about everyone descending on the cobbled streets of Somerset House for London Fashion Week in a few days, the style on the streets of New York has been pretty captivating this season. With the recent snow storms and sub zero temperatures that the city has been experiencing, the fashionable have had to rethink their usual stylish combos and seek out clothes that can both wow the photographers and keep them from hypothermia. Because of this the NYFW AW14 street style trends have given way to some exciting new fashion movements. As we've been keeping a beady eye on the trends as they happen (AW14 catwalk trends to come in a seperate post) we've done the scouring and collating for you and put together the top five styles to try this season as seen on some of our favourite bloggers, journalists and celebs. Street Style from NYFW1. Monochrome It may seem an obvious choice for fashion week (you can't go wrong with all black right?) but not such an obvious choice for Spring. Yet every combo of monochrome possible has been spotted over the last week from prints to geometry to leather to stripes. Luckily this is one trend that's relatively easy to do year round so pick up some key monochrome pieces to add to your wardrobe now. Street Style from NYFW2. Pastels We've mentioned it already over on Facebook and Twitter but pastels are big news for this Spring, maybe even more so than last. The ubiquitous pink coat still seems to be going strong, but shades of ice blue and creamy whites are to be added. For top fashion brownie points this season however, it seems you need to team a pastel ensemble with a bright fluoro accessory. Pastel meets neon, we like? Grab some pastel pieces here. Street Style from NYFW3. Bright Accessories So we hate to brag but didn't we call this one just last week? Yup we predicted an outbreak of winter bright accessories and we were right! bright pink and blue bags were spotted everywhere and a micro trend of bright printed scarves around the head warned off the cold. You can shop printed scarves here and see our range of neon accessories here. Street Style from NYFW4. Fur The cold weather may have had a big part to play in this one but everyone who's anyone was sported a teddy bear fur coat this NYFW season and leading on from the above trend, the brighter the better. As well as coats all other fur accessories are game too from hand muffs to bag accessories and Russian style hats. Street Style from NYFW5. Prints The number one print this season had to be the tartan check, closely followed by stripes and geometric florals. Bright colours once again reigned but adding printed pieces to an outfit was the best way to layer up in the cold weather. Those were our top five trends from NYFW Aw14, we'd love to hear from you if you spotted any others? We'll be back with a post on the jewellery trends from fashion week soon but as always in the meantime tweet us @annalouoflondon or chat to us on Facebook.

Trend: Heavy Metals

You may be a bigger fan of Kylie than Kiss when it comes to metal of the music variety, but there is no reason why you can't be a full on heavy metal fan in jewellery terms. Heavy metals are big news this season which means abandoning that usual mantra of less is more. In this game, the thicker, heavier and shinier, the better. Heavy Metal Jewellery inspiration pics So how to tackle the trend? Well contrary to what you may be thinking, you don't need to overhaul your style and start wearing lashes of black eyeliner and shaping your hair into spikes. Despite the connotations, the trend for heavy jewellery doesn't necessarily come with that of heavy grungy fashion. In fact, so far in the style stakes, it's been quite the opposite and we've seen models and celebs alike donning thick metal jewels with either glam sophisticated evening wear or casual weekend wear. Simple items work best such as all black or all white ensembles teamed with one shade of heavy metal bling, or denim and separates accentuated with a lashing of hammered and textured jewels. Pieces to look out for with this trend include chunky choker style necklaces or thick chains, simple stacking rings in various metal shades and hammered metal bracelets and arm bands. Here's five of the best from the ALOL collection... Anna Lou of London heavy metal jewellery items1. Gold hammered ID bracelet 2. Couture Luxe Necklace 3. White frost Studded bangle 4. Darkness chain bracelet 5. Monogram signet ring What do you think of the heavy metal trend?

Everyone's Wearing... Ear Cuffs!

The trend for ear cuffs has come and gone over the last year without really making too much of a splash. After last year's Punk inspired Met Ball where Sienna Miller and Cara Delevigne were both seen adorning ear jewels of the edgy and spiky variety, there were ripples to suggest that this might be a trend about to blow up. But alas, apart from within the true punk scene, so far the ear cuff hasn't really taken off in mainstream fashion. Celebrities wearing ear ciffs Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie and Cara Delvigne at the Met Ball 2013. Image sources here. But after seeing a few of the, shall we say, less risque celebrities donning some upper ear bling on the red carpet lately, we are here to ask; Could 2014 be the year of the ear cuff? This year's revival already seems a little different however. Instead of being an accessory to toughen up your leather jacket and give off a 'don't mess with me' vibe, the ear cuff now seems to be taking a much more sophisticated route, being worn alongside chic up-do's, evening gowns and flawless make up. Celebrity Ear Cuff trend From L-R: Emma Watson, Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Lawrence, Jessica Alba, Lara Bingle and Sarah Hyland. Images sources here. First spotted on our favourite quintessential English rose, Emma Watson, who is normally known for her demure red carpet style, her cuff of choice was adorned with tiny swarovski crystals proving this accessory needn't be pigeon holed. This statement was followed swiftly by Miranda Kerr, who donned her cute as a button cuff with an oh so casual outfit, Jennifer Lawrence who wore a beautiful sparkling number at The Hunger Games Catching Fire premiere, Jessica Alba who chose a sophisticated snaking number and most recently with Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland choosing to compliment her chic up-do with a blingtastic cuff at The Grammy's this week. Yup, you heard it here first. It looks like the ear cuff is re-appearing in a much more glamourous form, and this time it might just be here to stay. What do you think of the ear cuff trend and how would you wear it? Tweet us @annalouoflondon, send us a pic of yours on Instagram or leave us a comment on Facebook.

The Top Trends from The Golden Globes 2014

We love a good red carpet event here at ALOL and this years Golden Globes was a feast for the eyes as the celebrities hit the carpet in all sorts of beautiful gowns, statement accessories and to die for jewellery. Here we've rounded up some of our favourite trends from the night and do let us know what you loved too. Top Trends from the Golden Globes 2014... 1. Red Red at Golden Globes 2014 Red was the colour of the night with a whole host of celebrities ditching the usual black or metallic gowns for show stopping scarlet numbers, without even a hint of carpet clashing worry. Our favourite outfit of the night had to go to Emma Watson who pulled off this Dior backless dress and trouser combo to perfection, but we also loved Amy Adams plunging neckline and Nupita Nyoung's Caped Ralph Lauren showcase. 2. Turquoise jewels Turquoise jewels at Golden Globes 2014 A theme for the night was all black ensembles teamed with bright blue and turquoise jewellery. Obviously we approve of any stand out jewellery on the red carpet and we thought both Emma Roberts and Sofia Verbara pulled it off to perfection. Which do you prefer? Get the look with our top turquoise pieces. 3. Monochrome Golden Globes 2014 Fashion Clean lines and monochrome colourways were top of the bill for many of the stars, and Tom Ford could be thanked for most of these styles. Our favourite monochrome looks were Hayden Panitierre and Girls star Allison Williams in Alexander McQueen. Get the monochrome look here. 4. Emerald Green Emerald Green at Golden Globes 2014 On the jewellery side, many of our stars opted for emerald green gems. Jennifer Lawrence, Mila Kunis and Helen Mirren were all spotted in beautiful emerald earrings, while Olivia Wilde went head to toe in the colour with a slinky Gucci gown. We were green with envy at it all. Shop emerald pieces here. 5. Slicked back Hair Hair Trends Golden Globes 2014 The top hair trend of the evening seemed to be of the slick variety. From Hayden Pannittiere and Jessica Chastain in backwards bouffants, and Kelly Osbourne and Drew Barrymore slicking it sideways. We're still not convinced on this hair trend, what do you think? Who were your best dressed at the Golden Globes? We'd love to hear your thoughts, Tweet us @annalouoflondon or leave us a comment on Facebook.

Back To Work Outfit Inspiration...

After all of the sparkle, sequins and colour that surrounds our outfits over the festive season, heading back into work wear territory come January can seem, well, a little dull can't it? It's easy to get stuck in a style rut (don't we know it) and reach for those easy black and grey pieces and comfort clothing on a cold January morning. But as we all know, a good outfit can do wonders for our mood, confidence and demeanour so even if its cold and dark outside and you are only going to the office, making a little more effort with your work outfits can really make all the difference to getting through January unscathed. So here at ALOL we are aiming to 'dress up' a little more for the office  and so far its been great fun! We thought we'd share some of our back to work outfit inspiration, the best celebrity and street style looks of course, which we've been gathering like crazy over on our Pinterest board of late. back to work inspiration We've been getting inspired by the likes of Poppy Delevigne and Miroslava Duma and below are our style tips on how to make more of your work wear this year: 1. Keep it masculine - we all love feminine looks but lets be honest, they do take more effort. If your version of work wear at the moment is jeans/ trousers and comfy shirts/ knits then you don't need to stray too far from that. Masculine styles can look sharp and totally chic as long as the cuts are right. Add at least one more girly piece such as the fur stole in the first look above, a statement necklace or a bright scarf and your look will be far from boring. 2. Add a fun print - Poppy Delevigne's jeans and blazer look above is nothing special but the polkadot print of the trousers makes this look stand out and seem far more creative. We also love the embroidered panel of a plain pencil skirt as seen above or a simple polkadot silk shirt as worn by Clemence Poesy. Easy to do, yet makes a true statement. 3. Inject some colour - Ok so not all of us could pull of Miroslava Duma's cobalt blue suit, but adding an injection of a bright colour like this will both lighten your mood and give you a lift in the style stakes. Not brave enough to do a coloured suit? Try a bright scarf or necklace or even a pair of colourful heels underneath a plain suit. 4. Stick with the classics - classic accessories will always update a more plain work uniform, and it also means you don't need to spend loads buying new season pieces. Whatever you wear, add a classic yet chic bag, and the jewellery you feel comfortable in and you'll instantly feel more confident at work. 5. Choose your empowering item - everyone has one thing which can give you that air of confidence even on the worst of bad hair days, whether its a slick of red lippy, your favourite sparkly heels or just a pendant that means something to you. On those days when you wake up tired and reluctant, throw this on and make it a great day! What gives you confidence at work? Do you have any tips for making back to work less dull?
