This spring everyone’s talking about ‘Barely There’, the trend of mixing and matching daintier pieces as opposed to going for one bold piece. Statement jewellery has definitely had its time but now is not it. We have a look at how to wear barely there jewellery Anna Lou style! Anna Lou of London cross bracelet engraved heart bracelet name bracelet barely there jewellery This is great news for people who feel a bit over done in a big cuff or a chunky pair of earrings. You can start small, and gain momentum, layering up gradually whilst maintaining a delicate and feminine look. Anna Lou of London arrow necklace love bar necklace side initial necklace barely there jewellery Rules about which metals can be put together have totally gone out the window! It’s ok to mix gold and silver and even throw in a rose gold or two! Mix up styles too, going for thick or thinly banded rings, worn on different fingers and at different points on the fingers, welcome studs, knots, twists and twirls! 10 Spring Essentials every Brit Needs...

This time of year can be a royal pain in the behind at times with regards to the weather. The sun likes to deceive us and then we leave the house with only a light jacket to find its actually arctic levels of freezing and don't even get us started on those hailstones. Sun one minute, golf ball sized hail the next. Us Brits have to be prepared for it all, and so there's certain items that no Briton should be without. We've compiled the top ten spring essentials every Brit needs to own if they want to survive a Spring in the land of all weathers, and most of them should preferably be kept on your person at all times. 1. The umbrella - well of course this has to be the number 1 essential. It's best to carry a small umbrella in every bag you own just to avoid getting caught out! 2. The Parka Jacket - ah the parka, the jacket which will see you through every eventuality from muddy festivals to weekend trips abroad. Normally they are fleecy on the inside to keep you warm and have that all important waterproof exterior. Win win. 3. Wellington Boots - can you see a trend developing here? Welly boots are now seen as a pretty fashionable item though so you can easily get away with them for more than just a festival. We love the colourful Hunter styles. 4. A Pair of Sunglasses - did you know that the sun can harm your eyes even through clouds? Apparently in cities we are much more susceptible to sun damage because most of the time we don't even realise the sun is hitting us through all of the pollution. Always carry your favourite sunnies and even if you feel a bit silly wearing them on a cloudy day, we promise it's doing you good. 5. The multifunctional scarf - as well as your winter woolies, everyone needs a lighter scarf which can work with all of your outfits and easily be thrown into your bag. One amazing scarf can be tied around your hair when it gets warmer, around your neck when its a bit cooler and added to bag when you just need a bit of colour injected into the outfit. 6. A transitional dress - a dress that's easy to throw on in a fun floral print is a must for a british spring. Add tights and boots on colder days, go bare legged and add a denim jacket on warmer days. 7. A pair of 'wear with anything' boots - its not quite sandal weather but your ready to give up the winter shoes so a cute ankle boot is definitely your friend at this time of year. Wear with that dress we mentioned above and layer your legs as appropriate. 8. The lightweight knit - it may look sunny sometimes but once the sun goes so does any heat that came with it and you can be left rather cold come evening so a lightweight knit is the ideal in between. Keep it thin and easy to throw over tees and under jackets and that way it can be rolled up and slipped in your bag should the sun come out. 9. A great hair accessory - you know the scenario, you do your hair lovely first thing in the morning and by the time you reach the office having battled the elements you look as if you crawled backwards through a bush. Keep a jazzy hair accessory on you at all times to save you from having to survive a whole day of bad hair. Whether its a stylish bobble or glam headband, it's worth keeping in your handbag. 10. A bag big enough to fit all of the above!

In case you missed our first choose it, style it, shoot it, we'll fill you in. We've introduced a new feature to the blog where we challenge some of our favourite fashion bloggers to choose, style and shoot a piece from the Anna Lou of London collection and we'll be sharing the results with you here each week. One of the things that the Anna Lou of London brand prides itself on is its versatility and each of our items can be interpreted to suit you own style. What better way to give you inspiration on how to incorporate our pieces into your own wardrobe than to give you a sneak peek into other people's? The Silk Scarf by Thank Fifi This week we catch up with top Scottish style blogger Wendy from the adorable fashion blog Thank Fifi as she talks us through how she styled up the Abbey Road silk scarf. Thank Fifi wears Anna lou of London Thank Fifi wears silk scarf"I chose this amazing scarf which I like to call the silk grand prix.  It's checked and monochrome so a perfect fit for my style and I love the 100% silk quality." Thank Fifi wearing ALOL silk scarfThank Fifi wears silk scarf"I've styled it as a knotted neck scarf which we've seen popping up more and more on the fashion week catwalks.  I think the slouchy knit and boyfriend jean keep it from looking too prim and proper." Thank Fifi wears the silk scarf"I'm looking forward to styling it with a messy up do, aviators and worn as a knotted headscarf.  Bring on summer - I can't wait!" All images from Thank Fifi, check out the full post for more inspiration on how to wear this trend and a big thank you to Wendy for the interview.

Trend: Good enough to Eat...

Seeing as January is all about healthy living and post Christmas dieting, it's understandable that as Spring approaches we've got all things edible on the brain, even down to our fashion and jewellery choices. Lately we've been drooling (quite literally) over cute fashions that are good enough to eat and we thought it would be rude not to share some of our favourite fruity fashion spots. Solange Knowles wearing lemon dressSolange Knowles is giving her sister a run for her money in this zesty get up and making us ache for Summer and festival season. Kit Lee carrying watermelon bagEven Baby knew it was the perfect accessory in Dirty Dancing and Kit from Styleslicker has sealed the deal for us. We're starting with these cute watermelon studs and waiting for our very own Johnny to sweep us off our feet this Summer. 3. Pop Your Cherry... Anna Della Russo wearing Cherry headbandThat is to say in fashion terms, of course. The cherry been a resident on the fashion scene for a lot longer than the other members of the fruit clan but that doesn't make it any less fun or covetable. Anna Della Russo is a fan, and therefore so are we! Shop our cherry pieces here! 4. Strawberry Fields... Street Style featuring StrawberriesThese fruity fashionistas sure know how to make us berry happy (sorry!). Whether in an all over print or just a humble knit for your noggin who doesn't love the humble strawberry? Trend: Spring Pastels

After the stormy weather last week, it's been great to see the first glimmer of sunshine this week wouldn't you agree? Spring has almost Sprung and therefore springlike trends are at the forefront of our minds. While it began last season with the ubiquitous pink coat, it seems that the spring pastels trend is sticking around for a while yet and the pink coat has been joined by it's friendly counterparts; the icy blue and creamy white coats. Over at LFW last weekend we certainly saw an abundance of pastel loving on the Somerset House cobbles and everyone we spoke to said that wearing those ice cream hues definitely put a Spring in their step after the long Winter. This trend is one that's set to get even bigger and better as the months go on and the weather warms up, and the great thing is that there is a shade for everyone and plenty of ways to wear it. So whether you are a fan of the peachy pinks, the minty greens or the baby blues, go pastel with your fashions this S/S and we promise you won't regret it. Take a look at our top pastel picks below... 5 top spring jewellery items from Anna Lou of London1. Heart acrylic studs 2. Blueberry Doilies Necklace 3. Bella studded bangle 4. Lilac bow bracelet 5. Aphrodite Luxe Necklace What do you think of the Pastel trend? Will you be wearing a pastel coloured coat?

Here's just a few of our fave fashion bloggers spotted accessorising their stylish LFW AW14 outfits with Anna Lou of London accessories. Shop the looks below.
