This time of year can often be a trial when it comes to getting dressed in the morning. We've made peace with that fact that Summer is at an end and have stored our open toed sandals and floppy hats away for another year. Now we are ready to don those Winter coats and start layering like all of the magazines keep telling us. But the weather isn't quite with us yet. Autumn in Britain basically means anything goes - sun, rain, even snow - who knows what to expect on an average day. You may be too hot in a wooly jumper one minute and too cold for that lightweight jacket the next. One item which will never go wrong, whatever the season, is the silk scarf. As a trendy way to protect your hair against sun damage in the Summer, it then adds a touch of colour to your wardrobe come Winter. With a great selection of 100% silk scarves available at Anna Lou of London, we thought we would give you out top three ways to wear the silk scarf this Winter, and none of them include having it around your neck. 1. Accessorise your hair - the silk scarf can easily double up as a great hair accessory to brighten up an otherwise dark Winter look. roll it up and drape around the front of your hair to create a hairband or why not twist it into your ponytail and create a chic scarf bun like the lovely Julia from Stylonylon shows us. 2. Accessorise your bag - one of the fash packs favourites, tying a chic silk scarf around the handle of your favourite handbag is another easy way to add a fun colour or print to your outfit and take your scarf with you at all times. That way if it does get a bit chilly out you have an extra layer waiting for you! 3. Accessorise your wrists - ok so maybe its because we are so often tied up in jewellery that this one appealed but we can't help but love the idea of wearing a silk scarf around your wrist to complement the rest of your arm candy. Its so easy to do and can make a big style statement so why not give it a go? What is your favourite way to wear a silk scarf? We would love to hear your tips so let us know over on Twitter!
